KAFCRYOGENICS
Used Equipment

Used Equipment

Used cryogenic, LNG, LPG and pressure equipment can be a relevant option where budget, lead time or project scope favor an alternative to new equipment. KAF Cryogenics sources used equipment according to specific project requests; availability, condition and configuration vary by unit and are confirmed at the time of inquiry.

Availability

Used equipment is not held as a standing catalog — units are sourced in response to specific requests, based on the medium, capacity and configuration described by the customer. Availability depends on market conditions at the time of inquiry.

Condition & Scope

As-Is Equipment

Some units are offered as-is, reflecting their condition at the time of sourcing without additional work performed.

Refurbished Equipment

Other units may undergo refurbishment before sale; the scope of refurbishment is specific to that unit and is described individually rather than as a standard package.

Every unit differs. The condition, documentation available and any refurbishment performed are specific to each individual piece of equipment and are communicated at the point of inquiry rather than assumed in advance.

Technical Overview

Where documentation exists for a used unit — such as original design data, prior inspection records or material certificates — it is shared as available. Where such documentation does not exist or is incomplete, this is communicated directly rather than implied to be present.

Industries

Industrial gas, LNG, LPG, LCO₂ and general process equipment operators seeking equipment beyond a new-build timeline or budget.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is used equipment sold with a warranty?

No warranty is implied on used equipment. Each unit is offered on the basis of its described condition at the time of the offer, with no guarantee given as to performance, remaining service life or certification status. Any commercial terms applying to a specific unit are set out individually in writing for that unit and should not be assumed from this page.

How is the condition of a used unit determined before sale?

Condition is described per unit from the information available for that unit, which may include nameplate data, existing documentation and, where the current holder provides them, photographs or condition notes. Inspection, NDT and testing are not carried out as standard and should not be assumed. Where a buyer needs verification, that is discussed for the specific unit rather than offered as a standard step.

What is the difference between as-is and refurbished used equipment?

As-is means the unit is offered in its current state with no work carried out on it, and its condition is described as found. Refurbished means specific work has been carried out on that particular unit, and the description states what was addressed. In both cases no warranty is implied and no representation is made about remaining service life, and condition is described individually per unit.

Is documentation always available for used equipment?

No. Documentation availability varies per unit and cannot be assumed. Some units come with design data, drawings, material certificates or earlier inspection records, while others carry partial documentation or none at all. What exists for a given unit is stated at the time of the offer, and missing documentation is not reconstructed or substituted.

How is used equipment sourced — is there a standing inventory?

There is no standing catalogue or held inventory of used equipment. Units are sourced according to a specific request, based on the capacity, pressure rating, medium and configuration stated by the buyer. Availability depends on the market at that moment, so a unit matching a given specification may or may not be found.

Can used equipment be inspected before purchase?

Inspection arrangements are discussed per unit and are not guaranteed. Whether an inspection can be arranged depends on the location of the unit, its current holder and the access conditions at that site. Where inspection matters to the buying decision, it should be raised at the inquiry stage so it can be considered before any unit is committed.

Does KAF Cryogenics certify the remaining service life of used equipment?

No. No representation is made about the remaining service life of used equipment, and no certification is issued on that basis. Fitness for continued service is determined by an authorised inspection body under the regulations applicable at the installation site. Buyers should plan for that assessment as part of their own commissioning process.

What information should be provided when requesting used equipment?

Useful information includes the medium, the required capacity or volume, design pressure and design temperature, insulation type where relevant, and the design code or national regulations applicable at the installation site. The intended installation country matters, since acceptance of used pressure equipment differs between jurisdictions. Any constraints on documentation, condition or acceptable configuration should be stated at the outset.
