Cryogenic Tanks

KAF Cryogenics supplies stationary and transportable cryogenic tanks for LIN, LOX and LAR, built as double-walled, vacuum-insulated pressure vessels with an austenitic stainless steel inner vessel (typically grade 304L to EN 10028-7) and a carbon steel outer jacket, insulated with perlite in the vacuum space. Cold-stretched inner vessels are used on medium- and high-pressure models to optimize wall thickness while maintaining code compliance. Standard stationary capacities range up to 1,000 m³, with MAWP options from 3 to 37 bar in accordance with EN 13458 and the applicable requirements of the EU Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68/EU, PED); AD 2000 Code and ASME Section VIII Division 1 are applied where the project or destination requires them. Each tank is fitted with a flow-diverter valve and dual pressure relief valves as standard, with provisions for level and pressure transmitters and remote telemetry where specified.

CO2 Tanks

KAF Cryogenics provides complete LCO2 storage and transportation solutions for industrial gas distribution, beverage production, food processing, dry ice manufacturing and other liquid CO2 applications. The range includes stationary storage tanks, semi-trailers, truck-mounted tankers and ISO container configurations, with storage tanks are available with vacuum insulation or PUR/PIR insulation, with standard and custom storage capacities up to 400 m³ and MAWP up to 24 bar. Because LCO2 is held close to its saturation pressure rather than behaving as a simple boil-off cryogen, both vacuum-insulated and PUR/PIR-insulated tanks may be fitted with a refrigeration unit that condenses the vapor generated by heat ingress and keeps the tank at its design pressure and temperature; a pressure-building vaporizer is used where withdrawal pressure needs to be maintained. Depending on the project, inner vessel material can be carbon steel or stainless steel, and the equipment can be arranged in vertical or horizontal configuration with the required filling, withdrawal, pressure-control and instrumentation connections. On PUR/PIR-insulated tanks, the insulation is protected by a stainless steel or aluminum weatherproof cladding against mechanical damage and moisture ingress.

Piping, equipment layout and ancillary systems can be adapted to the requirements of the project and site.

Ambient Vaporizers

KAF Cryogenics provides atmospheric low- and high-pressure ambient vaporizers for converting cryogenic liquids to gaseous phase efficiently and safely. Two heat-transfer arrangements are available: fin-tube vaporizers, which rely on natural convection between the atmospheric air and the cold pipe surface, and fan-assisted vaporizers, where an electric fan draws air downward through the finned tube bundle to increase heat transfer and reduce footprint. Neither type requires an external energy source for the vaporization process itself, making the equipment suitable for gas supply systems connected to cryogenic storage installations.

Power Generation Systems

KAF Cryogenics supplies separator tanks, accumulation tanks and N-Pentane tanks designed and manufactured in accordance with EN 13445, ASME (U Stamp) and AD 2000 Code standards, and in compliance with the EU Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68/EU, PED). Tank size and anchoring are determined according to seismic and wind load calculations carried out to the relevant standards, and the support and leg design of each tank is arranged to allow convenient transportation. Surface finishing is completed with oven-dried, high-quality paint application, and each tank is verified through non-destructive inspection methods, including ultrasonic testing, penetrant testing and magnetic particle testing, in line with applicable standards.
