Stationary and Transportable LPG Tanks
KAF Cryogenics provides complete LPG storage, transportation, skid and distribution solutions for domestic, commercial, autogas and industrial applications. Stationary equipment includes aboveground and underground storage tank options, with standard capacities from 5 to 300 m³, designed to EN 12542, EN 13445 and the EU Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68/EU); AD 2000, ASME, CODAP and BS 5500 can be applied where the project or destination requires them. Piping, equipment layout and ancillary systems can be adapted to the requirements of the project and site.
Tanks are fabricated from fine-grain, normalized pressure vessel steel (such as P355 to EN 10028-3), with weld joints checked by a combination of radiographic, ultrasonic, dye penetrant and magnetic particle testing before each vessel is hydrostatically pressure tested and its connections leak-tested with nitrogen. Surface protection is applied by sand-blasting followed by a primer, undercoat and top-coat system, with the coating specification selected according to whether the tank is installed aboveground or buried/mounded underground.
Transportable LPG equipment is available in capacities from 34 to 76 m³. The product range also covers domestic tanks, autogas tanks and skid tanks, allowing storage and handling equipment to be configured for distribution terminals, bottling and filling operations, fuel supply and other LPG applications. Autogas tanks for service and distribution stations are supplied for aboveground or underground installation according to local regulations, with standard and project-specific nozzle configurations.
Equipment is configured with the required capacity, design pressure and temperature, orientation, piping arrangement and corrosion protection for the intended service, with material and inspection documentation provided according to the applicable design code.
Frequently Asked Questions
What stationary LPG tank configurations are available?
Aboveground and underground storage tank options are available, together with domestic, autogas and skid tank configurations. The arrangement is selected according to the application and site requirements.
Which design codes and standards apply?
Stationary tanks up to 13 m³ are designed to EN 12542; larger and project-specific tanks are designed to EN 13445 and the EU Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68/EU). AD 2000, ASME, CODAP and BS 5500 can be applied where required by the project or destination.
What capacities are available for stationary LPG tanks?
Standard stationary capacities range from 5 to 300 m³. Project-specific requirements can be reviewed separately.
What capacities are available for transportable LPG equipment?
Transportable LPG equipment is available in the 34 to 76 m³ capacity range.
How is the equipment protected against corrosion?
Tanks are sand-blasted and coated with a primer, undercoat and top-coat system, with the specification selected according to aboveground or underground/buried installation.
What quality checks are applied?
Weld joints are checked using radiographic, ultrasonic, dye penetrant and magnetic particle testing, and each tank undergoes a hydrostatic pressure test with connections leak-tested using nitrogen. And a lot more…
Can piping and equipment layouts be customized?
Yes. Project-specific piping and equipment layouts are part of the available scope and are defined according to the installation requirements.
Which applications are covered?
The range supports LPG storage, transportation and distribution for domestic, commercial, autogas, industrial and related applications.
