How a used tank earns the word 'certified'
Pre-owned equipment is only cheap if it is trustworthy. This page shows exactly what every unit goes through before we list it, and what you receive with it.
The used equipment market has a reputation problem: units sold from a yard with a fresh coat of paint and no paperwork. Our pre-owned program exists to be the opposite of that. Every unit passes a defined inspection and testing sequence, gets a compiled document file, and carries a written warranty stated in the offer. If a unit cannot pass or cannot be documented, it is not sold as certified pre-owned, full stop.
The inspection and preparation sequence
Six steps between a purchased used unit and a listed one.

Intake and history review
Nameplate data, previous documentation and service history are collected and verified as far as records allow.

Visual and dimensional inspection
External and internal condition, supports, lifting points, coating and accessible welds are inspected and photographed.

Non-destructive testing
NDT on accessible welds and critical areas as appropriate to the equipment type (ultrasonic, penetrant or other suitable methods).

Performance testing
Vacuum performance measurement for cryogenic units; pressure testing per the applicable code where due; valve and safety device checks.

Refurbishment where needed
Valves, instruments, coating and wear parts are repaired or replaced. The scope is recorded and stated in the offer.

Documentation and listing
The document file is compiled (see below) and the unit enters stock with photos and verified specifications.

Honesty clause: for some older units, parts of the historical paperwork no longer exist. Where that is the case, the offer says so explicitly, and the current test results carry the burden of proof. We would rather tell you what is missing than let you discover it.

How much cheaper is pre-owned, really?
Typically a significant fraction of new price depending on age, condition and market availability, and the delivery time advantage is often worth more than the price difference. The offer shows both channels side by side when both are available.
What does the warranty cover?
Warranty scope and duration are stated per unit in the offer. It covers the refurbished and tested condition of the unit as described; the exact terms are written, not implied.
Can I inspect a unit before buying?
Yes, and we encourage it. Units can be inspected at their listed location, in person or by your appointed surveyor.
What happens if a unit fails your inspection?
It is either refurbished until it passes, sold explicitly as a project/repair unit with its condition stated, or scrapped. It is not listed as certified pre-owned.
