This is the French edition of EIGA Doc 125/11 on the supply of gases for use in foods. It opens from the same starting point as the English text: Regulation (EC) No 178/2002, which lays down the general principles of European food law and established the European Food Safety Authority.
The guide notes that European legislation, current and forthcoming, requires products supplied to the food industry, gases included, to meet increasingly demanding standards for food safety.
What the document covers
- French language edition of the EIGA guide to the supply of gases for use in foods.
- Built on Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 and the European food law framework.
- Covers gases used as additives, processing aids and ingredients.
- Addresses the supply chain from production through to the final user.
- Corresponds to revision 125/11, which precedes the current 125/20 edition.
What it means for equipment
Together with the specification document, this guide describes a chain of custody for food gases. Equipment at the user site is part of that chain.
For French installations this edition is often the working reference, while the current English edition is the one to cite when the requirement is contractual.
