LCO2 Semi trailers Cryogenic Insulated
KAF Cryogenics supplies LCO2 semi-trailers with cryogenic vacuum insulation for liquid carbon dioxide service. These transportable tank units are selected for bulk distribution and road tanker duties, including payload, journey duration and the receiving installation.
Insulation and Vessel Construction
Cryogenic Insulated refers here to a double-walled, vacuum-insulated tank configuration. The inner vessel, outer jacket, insulation system and vacuum condition are reviewed for the selected unit. Vessel materials, design temperature, capacity and pressure rating are confirmed for the model. The insulation name alone does not define the approved service conditions.
Pressure Management and Transfer Duty
Heat ingress, ambient temperature, operating frequency and withdrawal demand affect pressure management. Refrigeration, pressure-building equipment, pumps, meters and instrumentation are selected only where the duty requires them. Provide route conditions, allowable standing time, loading and discharge requirements. Tare, legal payload and tank configuration are reviewed together for the tanker.
Model Selection and Documentation
Technical data, materials, inspections and the applicable equipment requirements are established for the selected model. Transport tank and vehicle records are reviewed for the destination; stationary tank specifications are not substituted for transport approval. New equipment and selected used units can be considered, with availability and condition reviewed individually.
Equipment Specification Overview
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Medium | Liquid carbon dioxide (LCO2) |
| Insulation | Superinsulation and vacuum |
| Standard nominal capacities | 24.5 m³, 25 m³, 27 m³ and 29 m³ |
| Pressure options | 23 bar or 24 bar; selected model |
| Design temperature | −40°C to +50°C for the stated semi-trailer range |
| Vessel material | Carbon steel or duplex stainless steel according to the selected model |
| Discharge options | Pump, flowmeter and actuated valves where specified |
| Design references | EN 14398 and EN 14025 as applicable to the selected construction |
| Road transport approvals | ADR and TPED, including π marking where applicable |
The stated ranges describe the equipment portfolio. Capacity, pressure, materials and documentation are confirmed together for the selected model and project.
Standard Model Capacities and Pressure Options
Standard nominal capacities of 24.5, 25, 27 and 29 m³ are available in both the cryogenic vacuum-insulated and PIR / PUR-insulated semi-trailer groups. Pressure options are 23 bar or 24 bar, according to the model. Nominal tank capacity does not establish usable filling volume, payload or tare. The approved vehicle configuration defines those transport characteristics.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does this insulation name mean?
Cryogenic Insulated denotes the vacuum-insulated option; PIR / PUR Insulated denotes foam insulation. The vessel design and approved gas service are reviewed separately.
Does the insulation determine capacity or MAWP?
No. Capacity, pressure and temperature ratings are defined by the selected model and its technical documentation.
Is refrigeration included as standard?
Refrigeration is specified only where required by the thermal and operating duty and included in the agreed scope.
Which details should be provided for an inquiry?
Specify the liquid CO2 duty, insulation preference, capacity, pressure, location and filling or discharge requirements.
