LNG Regasification Systems

KAF Cryogenics provides LNG regasification equipment for converting stored liquefied natural gas into gas for downstream use. The regasification scope focuses on vaporization, pressure control, outlet conditions and the required operating cycle. It can form part of an LNG satellite plant or interface with a separately defined receiving and storage installation.

Vaporization and Gas Delivery

Normal and peak gas demand, gas composition, inlet conditions and required outlet pressure and temperature guide equipment selection. Ambient air vaporizers use the surrounding air as the heat source. Frosting, defrost periods and minimum ambient conditions are considered when reviewing continuous operation; an additional heating stage can be addressed where the duty requires it.

Pressure Control and Plant Interfaces

The gas delivery system is coordinated with storage pressure, liquid transfer and the consumption cycle. Valves, instruments and controls are selected for the equipment and agreed project boundary. An economizer can use storage vapor where operating conditions permit; it does not replace the complete pressure protection or idle-period operating review.

Project Scope and Documentation

A satellite plant covers receiving and storage as well as gas supply interfaces, while this page addresses the regasification process. Share process conditions, site information and existing drawings so that the vaporizer, controls and connection requirements can be defined. Engineering, installation and commissioning support are included only within the agreed scope.

Equipment configuration, capacity, pressure, materials and documentation are confirmed together for the selected model and project.

LNG Storage and Vaporization Equipment

LNG storage equipment includes standard nominal capacities of 5–100 m³, with project-specific configurations up to 400 m³ and model-specific MAWP options of 5–10 bar. Standard LNG semi-trailer nominal capacities are 50, 52 and 56 m³; truck-mounted bobtail options of 25 and 30 m³ can be reviewed separately. Vaporizer banks, gas demand, outlet conditions and controls are configured for the installation; the capacity of a complete regasification system is not the rating of one vaporizer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does regasification differ from a satellite plant?

Regasification describes the liquid-to-gas process and gas delivery equipment. A satellite plant also addresses LNG receiving, storage and the wider site installation.

Can regasification be supplied with storage?

Yes. Storage, vaporization and related interfaces can be coordinated within the agreed project scope.

Is an ambient air vaporizer suitable for continuous demand?

Suitability depends on ambient conditions, required flow, outlet temperature and operating cycle. Standby banks, defrosting and additional heating are reviewed for the duty.

What data is needed for an inquiry?

Provide normal and peak flow, LNG specification, inlet and outlet conditions, site ambient conditions and operating schedule.
