LPG Aboveground Tanks
KAF Cryogenics supplies LPG aboveground tanks for stationary storage in industrial, commercial and distribution applications. The tank is selected for the specified propane or butane service, capacity, operating conditions and installation requirements. Aboveground installation details are considered separately from transport tank and semi-trailer design.
Vessel Configuration and Gas Service
Capacity, usable filling volume, design pressure and temperature, vessel material and nozzle layout are established for the selected storage model. The overall LPG stationary family covers 5–200 m³; the available range for a particular installation type is confirmed separately. Relief, isolation and instrumentation connections are reviewed with the process requirements.
Installation and Corrosion Protection
Aboveground tanks are reviewed against the foundation, supports, weather exposure, access and site piping layout. Surface preparation and protective coatings are selected for the environment. Site engineering addresses positioning, inspection access and installation conditions in accordance with the applicable requirements.
Standards, Inspection and Documentation
EN 12542 applies within its defined scope to relevant static cylindrical LPG vessels up to 13 m³. EN 13445 or another specified code is reviewed for other duties, with applicable pressure equipment requirements considered separately. Material, welding, non-destructive examination, pressure testing and coating records are defined for the vessel and agreed inspection plan.

Equipment configuration, capacity, pressure, materials and documentation are confirmed together for the selected model and project.
Storage Model Classes
The stationary portfolio includes industrial nominal capacities of 5–200 m³ and small storage models from 500 litres to 10 m³. The available capacity, installation type and design are confirmed for the proposed unit. Design pressure is 17.16 bar and test pressure is 24.54 bar in the stated storage range; test pressure is not an operating pressure.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are aboveground and underground tanks interchangeable?
No. Tank construction, coating, supports, accessible fittings and installation requirements are reviewed for the intended arrangement.
What capacities are available?
The model capacity is confirmed for the installation type. The general stationary family range should not be treated as the rating of every aboveground or underground model.
Can connections be adapted to the site?
Connections and instrumentation can be reviewed against the storage, filling and withdrawal requirements within the agreed scope.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Provide LPG composition, target capacity, pressure, location, installation conditions and the required documentation.
